About The Palapa Grill
Joe and Robin opened their third restaurant to the sights of tropical flora and fauna. The Palapa Grill is an island-themed, “Tiki Bar” replete with mesh-covered walls; Palapa hangings; surf paraphernalia; and a permeating, island motif – right down to the brewing hurricane on the ceiling!
The Palapa Grill – like its neighbors Florentine’s Downtown Grill and Tuscany Club – is also nestled in quaint, Downtown Fullerton. In fact, the three establishments are all connected by shared walkways.
Joe has once again remained loyal to his roots and honored the Florentine legacy of excellence. He and his wife Robin, however, have once again added their own warmth and personal touch of ambience to this fast-casual dining establishment. It is for these reasons that The Palapa Grill has enjoyed enormous success.
The College Hot Spot
The Palapa Grill is surrounded by five college campuses within a ten mile radius. The student body from these five campuses exceeds 50,000. The faculty from these five campuses exceeds 5,000. This casual, “laid-back” venue has become both home and haven to many starving college students – who always seem to find at least a few bucks for good food and a cold beer.
It has also become a favorite place for faculty to grab a quick, reasonably priced bit to eat – before heading back to the ivy-covered halls of learning. Both the bar and menu are as casual and “laid-back” as is the Palapa Grill itself. Draft beers and Mai Thais are in abundance, while the menu focuses on American cuisine – quantity, quality and low prices
